I.C.A.R. Employees Consumer’s Cooperative Society Ltd. in Ri-Bhoi District was registered under the Meghalaya Cooperative Societies Act Vide its Registration No. NPH/2/1992 dated 27th April, 1992 . The Society started with six hundred ninety five no. of members by catering Consumer goods to its members and non-members at Rs.10.66. Credit disbursement at Rs.14.53 which resulted that the Society earned a profit of Rs.66,000/- during the initial year.

Later, the Society has progressed and diversified its activities like, Fair Price shop, Stall Canteen, Cable TV Network, LPG. Unit, Office supply and credit to its members. It also propose to take up training in improving manpower to other Cooperative Societies of the District.

The present position of this Cooperative Society is as follows  :
