The Departmental Committee at the State level

In pursuance of the Standing Instructions vide Planning Departments letter No.PLR.35/97/20, Dt. 21-5-1998, and other succeeding amendment on the matter the department has constituted the Departmental Committee  for scrutinizing the sanction and implementation of the Plan Schemes / ongoing Continuing Schemes / New Schemes / Centrally Sponsored Schemes and re-appropriation of funds under Cooperation department, with the following members:

1 Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Cooperation Department Chairman
2 Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Meghalaya, Shillong Member
3 Financial Adviser to the Government of Meghalaya, Cooperation Department Member
4 Under Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Cooperation Department Member Secretary

The Functions of the Committee are as follows :

  1. Scrutinizing sanction and implementation of on-going/continuing Schemes/New Schemes/Centrally Sponsored Schemes under existing DFPR, wherever specific amounts are not provided for TA/Office Expenses/wages and other charges in current years budget under any on-going/Continuing Plan Schemes/New Schemes/Centrally Sponsored Schemes, the Departmental Committee is hereby empowered to clear provisions of these items upto 10% of actual of proceeding year within the Budget provision.

  2. The Departmental Committee is to examines and recommend proposals like creation of New Posts/ Purchase/Replacement of Equipments/Vehicles under on-going / continuing Schemes / New Schemes and record their views.

  3. Regarding any New Schemes approved by Planning Commission for Implementation of the proposal during this year are to be referred clearly in the proposal itself.

  4. The proposals of State Share of Centrally Sponsored Schemes are to be referred to Planning Department after obtaining clearance from the Departmental Committee.

  5. Any other matter as enshrined in Govt. Circular No.PLR.35/97/20 Dt. 21-5-98 read with circulars referred therein.
